Our Definition of a Project There are many complex definitions of a project, but at ProjectExpress we like to keep things simple. Our definition is: A piece of work which meets a specific business requirement, has a definite start and end, and which is outside the normal day-to-day operations of the business. All successful projects should deliver measurable business benefit. Every business does projects, from the smallest to the largest. Examples include implementing a new IT system, installing a new piece of machinery, moving offices or developing a new product. The task of completing a project is most simply defined as "getting things done".
